chinese new year to me is not outta the norm

yes, indeed there is the addition of new clothes and goodies to munch on

but the gathering are oh-so-normal

i am thankful for being born into this close-knitted family

if you are very specific,

then my closer cousins and relatives are kinda distant

but we are close (minus those EXTREMELY distant ones),

my family is really close and still has it's element of tradition

i really appreciate the fact that chinese new year is still important for my family

and we don't have families that go on vacation

or ones that don't even turn up

and for that, i know i'm blessed (:
