my mom made a comment some time ago
we are gradually moving into the visual era
in the very-near future,
spouses will arrive home to the other sitting in front of a computer screen
and then similarly sit in front of his own laptop
we no longer keep active physical contact with others
two people can be in the same house
or even the same room
and yet they communicate via emails or messengers
this is so sad
i prefer talking to people face to face
yes the various communication tools are great when we are all busy
and racing through our lives
but won't it mean a hell lot
if we all took time out of our hectic schedules to meet up
with people that matter to us
EG; it would be much easier to share joys of a new car in person
than over a lame conversation window
talking about this...
have you ever signed in onto messenger or facebook or any other social network
and never checked for news or for a particular person the first thing you get in?
have you ever noticed how many unknowns you have in your friends list?
or people you rarely or no longer talk to still lingering on in your friends list?
whatever happened to keeping in touch?
i personally have many friends i met through camps
inter-school events,
annual [but i slowly grew up and made excuses not to attend ever again] events
primary/secondary school mates
but i no longer talk to any of them
so they sit on my friends list day in and out
and i just don't click on their names to open a conversation window
gosh...
but having said so,
i don't think i will ever muster up the ________
to talk to them
simply because it's kinda weird
and i won't know what to say
and and we might engage in the "over-enthusiastic conversation only to flake out soon after"
then we'll be back to square ZERO
so...why not not try ya?
pessimism there? [maybe]
i ever saw a quote somewhere
we never lose friends, we just keep those who really matter and care
so forever bear in mind who are the ones to hold on tight
and those who you should cherish their visits while it lasts
but don't ever turn your back on a friend, close or not so close
you never know when you'll be knocking on his/her door the next time around
to all my friends out there
close, haven't-seen-you-in-quite-awhile,not so close and i've-lost-contact-with-you
i'm thinking of all of you this very moment
take care!
